How to Install & Set Up Netdata

Install Netdata for real-time, per-second infrastructure monitoring with a zero-configuration dashboard, using the kickstart script.

Prerequisites

  • ✓A Linux/macOS host with curl or wget

Install with the kickstart script

terminal
wget -O /tmp/netdata-kickstart.sh https://get.netdata.cloud/kickstart.sh
sh /tmp/netdata-kickstart.sh
!

The script auto-detects your OS — RHEL, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, and more — and picks the right native package manager itself, so this exact command is the whole install regardless of distro. Add --stable-channel for stable releases only.

Verify

Open http://your-host:19999 for the live dashboard — hundreds of metrics are collected automatically with no configuration.

terminal
sudo systemctl status netdata
